Be Still & Know that I AM God

Sometimes we take certain scriptures & apply them only to certain situations.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me:
We quote this when we're facing something difficult as encouragement to go on because Christ will give us strength.

No weapon formed against me shall prosper:
We quote this when things seem to keep coming up that try to deter us from doing something.

Be still & know that I Am God.
This scripture is often quoted when we realize that God is telling us to stop trying to do things ourselves & allow Him to do what needs to be done for us.

Have you ever thought that being still & knowing that God is God could also means that sometimes we need to stop, take a deep breath & understand who God is! We are so busy all the time with work, family & just the chaotic daily ins & outs of life that we may not remember the simple things about life. A simple breeze through the trees, flowers blooming & leaves falling to the ground are all tremendous blessings! Think of all the people who are unable to see, smell, feel or hear - they don't get to enjoy the simple things that people who have these abilities do. Having a loving family and/or friends is a blessing, yet there are so many who do not have this amazing treasure!

When we are still, we can close our eyes, breathe in & appreciate the small things in life, the things we take for granted! God is so amazing & everything He gives us is a blessing BUT if we don't take time to BE STILL & KNOW THAT HE IS GOD, we won't ever realize that! SO the next time you find yourself rushed or busy, take a moment to be still so that you can appreciate the blessings that God is!
